In Spring 2022, eight activists working with the Brighton Park Neighborhood Council on Chicago’s Southwest side shared their stories with eighteen DePaul University students and their professors. Each activist was directly impacted by their own, or their family’s, undocumented status.
The students transcribed the interviews and edited them into this anthology. This anthology humanizes undocumented people and their families, and recognizes that each person’s story is unique, valuable, and worthy.
In raising up these stories, we hope to inspire others to share theirs.
